Arctelia
Craft in Motion
Welcome to the crew
Arctelia was designed to help you maintain your creative practice when time is fragmented. As a full-time working father of two with more creative practices than hours in the day, I struggled to maintain momentum on my projects through my limited time. I built Arctelia to help me organize those ideas, maintain progress across creative gaps, and display my finished work.
Work in Arctelia is organized into a process I call the motions, and it is one that has defined how I approach my creative endeavors and work in general. The concept is derived from the craft of fly fishing:
- The Calm the moment in which you study the water and prepare to cast.
- The Endurance all that effort to get the fly to the right position.
- The Breath the inhale when you see the fish break towards the fly.
- The Mend when you correct your line and reflect on your actions.
- The Inspiration the nights I spent drawing the fish and dreaming about getting back out there.
Every craft follows this rhythm - painting, writing, cooking, building, hiking. The materials change but the cycle doesn't. Each motion has workspaces tailored to support your work and capture your progress.
All of your entries can be analyzed by integrated AI models to help you maintain momentum. When you use Arctelia, you are the creator, and the AI serves strictly in a guidance capacity on your own work. There is no image generation or song generation - the model is there to help you produce the work that only you can create.
This was built by a painter, a writer, a developer, and a fisherman with two kids and a day job. I needed this. Maybe you do too.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoy your time using Arctelia.
- Zach
